Dr. Yolanda Fortin is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Educator, and Postpartum Doula. She obtained her PhD in Psychology from Boston University in 2003 and worked as a research psychologist for many years. She left her career, however, to pursue an enduring passion that developed while breastfeeding her first child; be there to help women breastfeed who want to breastfeed, on their own terms! She pursued her lactation education at the University of California-San Diego, and completed internships at hospitals in Long Beach and Anaheim. She has provided families with breastfeeding education and guidance in the classroom, birth center, in their homes, and in hers ever since. She believes her experiences have taught her that humility, compassion, and a dose of laughter are essential to providing exceptional breastfeeding support that empowers mothers with knowledge and the conviction to overcome challenges.
